Home chef FAQs
Questions before you start?
These are the practical details home chefs usually need before deciding whether Hungry Hop fits their business.
Do I need a permit to sell from my home?
Yes. Hungry Hop requires sellers to comply with applicable local food-safety and permitting requirements and to provide a valid food seller permit. Requirements vary by jurisdiction.
Can I choose which days I cook and take orders?
Yes. You can control your menu and item availability from the seller administration panel and set fulfillment times around your schedule.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes. Sellers set the prices for the products they sell through Hungry Hop.
Can I offer pickup or delivery?
Pickup is supported, and sellers may provide their own local delivery. Dine-in can also be configured where applicable. Your options should always match your permit and local requirements.
Can I run discounts or promotions?
Yes. Hungry Hop provides options to set discounts and promotions in the seller administration panel.
How do Hungry Hop fees work?
There is no listing fee. Marketplace commission is tiered from 4% to 12% based on rolling annual gross revenue, and a 3.5% payment-processing charge applies to transactions. Tips are paid directly to sellers without deductions.
